SCHLONK

This is it... the final stand of the last Schlonk on treacherous planet Tenalp. The insects are closing in; you struggle to hear anything above the chittering and scuttling of what must be a swarm of at least twelve Bugs (perhaps thirteen).

You take your last breath...

...And pop back up from the dust of your own corpse - good as new! Didn't you hear? Through the power of [REDACTED*], the Schlonk has life on loop. Sadly, Schlonk has yet to gain the ability to remember its past lives, so it's not going to become omniscient anytime soon. 

But that doesn't matter. The Bugs matter.

So get back out there, and show those bugs who's boss!

(*because humans cannot be trusted with the secret to immortality)

How to Play

WASD to Move

Mouse to Aim

Left Click to Attack (Except for baby Schlonk - you'll just have to run for it!)

Right Click for Ability

Getting hit reduces the time you have left... survive for as long as you can!

Eat enough food to get to the next stage of Schlonk's life cycle before time runs out! Maybe you'll discover its final form...

SCHLONK was made by a huge team of three people for the 2025 GMTK Game Jam, in 96 hours (sans sleep):

All character designs, final sprites, and UI by Tatsu (plus bonus credit for coming up with the word 'schlonk'. Thanks, Tatsu!).

Animations, environment art, original music, and sound effects/editing by Kit.

Additional animations and the actual 'game' part of the game by Fenn.
